Sambusa Sunday

On November 12, 2016 the Coalition of Somali American Leaders, Tayo Consulting Group and the Minneapolis Foundation worked together to organize the first Sambas Sunday to thank Minnesotans for their support in the days following the election. The Somali and Muslim community wanted to extend appreciation to Minnesotans who reinforce the oneness of Minnesota. Since the first event, the organizers have been inundated with requests and enquiries to organize more neighborhood events across Minnesota and beyond. Click here to learn how you can host your own Sambusa Sunday!

On October 27, 2016 the Coalition hosted GATHER, a networking and community building event. Friends, partners, funders, community members and fellow Minnesotans gathered together to support the Coalition and their work. Speakers included politicians, philanthropists, community organization leaders, and artists who all had the same common goal of creating a resilient community based on equity and integration.
